Ashwini Nakshatra – 1st Pada Karma Story

In the sacred book of the Karma Vipaka Samhita, Lord Shiva reveals to Devi Parvati how actions performed in one life continue to shape future births. The story connected to Ashwini Nakshatra 1st Pada carries a deep spiritual warning about greed, violence, and the unavoidable law of karma.

Long ago, there lived a learned Brahmin blessed with wisdom, virtue, and spiritual knowledge. His wife belonged to a noble Kshatriya family, and together they had a son named Narahari.

Though born into a righteous household, Narahari abandoned the path of dharma. Slowly, he became corrupted by bad actions and suffered from severe diseases. His mind became restless and trapped in greed.

The Sin That Changed Many Births

One day, a wealthy Brahmin named Lagna Sharma arrived with his sons carrying gold and valuables. Seeing this wealth, Narahari became blinded by desire.

Consumed by greed, he committed a terrible act. He killed the Brahmin and his sons to steal their gold. Though he enjoyed the stolen wealth for some time, fear of sin haunted his heart.

To reduce the burden of his karma, he secretly performed charity at the sacred Ganga–Yamuna Sangam and offered donations in the name of Lord Vishnu. However, hidden charity alone could not erase such grave actions.

“Good karma leads to heaven, bad karma leads to suffering, and mixed karma leads again to human birth.”

Punishment After Death

After many years, Narahari’s wife passed away, and eventually he too died. The servants of Yama dragged his soul into terrible hellish realms where he suffered for 70 Yugas.

After exhausting part of his sinful karma, he took birth as:

  • A jackal in the forest
  • A worm suffering in lower existence
  • Finally, a human once again

In his next human birth, the karmic effects still remained:

  • Born into a respectable family
  • Suffered from chronic illness
  • Had wealth but no peace of mind
  • Faced childlessness and family sorrow

Even his wife carried karmic suffering:

  • Greedy tendencies
  • Poor health
  • Difficulty bearing children

Lord Shiva Explains Karma

Devi Parvati asked Lord Shiva why such suffering appears in human life. Lord Shiva explained that karma follows the soul across births with absolute precision.

Action Karmic Result
Killing innocent people Severe diseases and suffering
Stealing wealth Poverty and instability
Violence and cruelty Painful rebirths
Insulting dharma Family and lineage problems

This teaching reminds natives of Ashwini Nakshatra 1st Pada to use their powerful energy wisely. Quick decisions, impulsive actions, and uncontrolled desires can create long-lasting karmic consequences.

Prayaschitta (Spiritual Remedies)

Lord Shiva also revealed sacred remedies to reduce karmic burdens and seek divine forgiveness.

  • Chant the Gayatri Mantra daily
  • Perform Mahamrityunjaya Mantra japa
  • Complete 5 lakh mantra repetitions with discipline
  • Create symbolic golden idols for atonement rituals
  • Perform puja, homa, and sincere repentance
  • Serve Brahmins, cows, and needy people selflessly

The ultimate teaching of this story is that karma never disappears without consequence. Yet sincere repentance, devotion, and spiritual discipline can gradually transform even the darkest karmic patterns.
